BeWater Kids — Movement and Fun for Children in Lisbon
BeWater Kids is the motor development and functional movement program at Be Water Lisbon, designed for children ages 4 to 10. Every class is an adventure: obstacle courses, adapted functional exercises, team games and relaxation moments — all guided by professionals specializing in pediatric exercise.
Led by Carlota Camacho — Exercise Physiologist with a Master's in Exercise and Health from the Faculty of Human Kinetics — the program focuses on the child's overall development: coordination, balance, strength, confidence and socialization, always through what children do best — play.
What We Do at BeWater Kids
Every class is a different adventure, but with a structure designed to develop fundamental motor skills:
Obstacle Courses
Circuits that challenge balance, agility and courage. Children jump barriers, crawl under obstacles and overcome challenges that develop motor coordination and body confidence.
Functional Exercises
Bear crawl, medicine ball, crawling and dynamic lateral movements — natural movements that develop strength and coordination in a playful way, without children feeling like they're training.
Team Games and Challenges
Teamwork, cooperation and a healthy dose of competitive fun. Children learn to collaborate, communicate and celebrate achievements together.
Relaxation and Body Awareness
Every class ends with breathing exercises and stretching, teaching children to calm their body and mind — an essential skill for everyday life.
Our Method
The BeWater Kids method is based on movement science and pediatric exercise pedagogy:
Learning Through Movement
Children learn best when they move. Every exercise is presented as a game or challenge, maintaining the child's natural engagement and motivation.
Age-Based Progression
The program is adapted for children ages 4 to 10, with exercises adjusted to each child's age and ability, ensuring natural and safe progression.
No Competition, Just Growth
We don't compare children to each other. Each one evolves at their own pace, celebrating their own progress. The goal is to build a positive relationship with exercise that lasts a lifetime.
Benefits for Development
Structured exercise in childhood has a profound impact on overall development:
Motor Development
Improvement of fundamental motor skills — running, jumping, crawling, balancing — which are the foundation for any future physical activity.
Coordination and Balance
Specific exercises that develop proprioception and spatial awareness, essential for healthy growth.
Confidence and Self-Esteem
Every obstacle overcome is a victory. Children build confidence by discovering what their body is capable of.
Discipline and Focus
Learning to follow instructions, wait for their turn and maintain focus on a task — skills that transfer to school and life.
Socialization
Making friends, working as a team and learning to respect others in a safe, supervised environment.
